Hereunder is an example:

I suffer from Exercise-Induced Asthma (EIA)- will regular cardiorespiratory training, such as running, help me ?

In EIA, unlike classic asthma, it is exercise itself that produces changes in the lungs which can lead to bronchospasm (a narrowing of the airways). If, when measured, your airway peak flow is reduced by more than 10 per cent by exercise, then the probable cause is EIA.
The aetiology (cause) of EIA is unknown, though dry air and low temperatures are known to act as triggers. Conversely, inhaling warm humid air will lessen the chance of occurrence. During exercise as you are breathing hard, the air is not warmed as much as at rest when it enters the lungs.
With regular training you can decrease the symptoms of EIA, but you cannot prevent them from occurring. Inhaled drugs might be required to treat your EIA but having EIA need not hinder your running provided you take the necessary precautions. The involvement of a respiratory physician might be necessary so that you undertake the necessary lung tests and often the medications are adjusted accordingly.
